Tool box key

Hi, I recently brought a R50 but there is no key for the tool box or steering lock, can these be brought or do i need new cylinders and if so is there an easy way to remove them cheers

In the past I have had keys from BMW, cut to fit the original lock , quoting the frame number , but whether they go back that far or still do it , I am not sure .

I believe the pre '69 models use the same Neiman key system as the later airhead boxer models for the steering lock at least. Blanks are still available. This site https://w6rec.com/bmw-motorcycle-fork-a ... iman-keys/ gives a lot of information which should be useful...
